The popular park with spectacular views of the Bosphorus, situated in the center of the city, offers relaxing moments for those who want to escape from the pressures of the city to enjoy nature.
The park has a large variety of rare and exotic trees, shrubs and flowers from around the world including cedar, pine, oak and cypress, which date from the Ottoman period.
The park was divided into sections during the reign of Sultan Abdülhamid II. The private section only includes the Palace and its auxiliary buildings, surrounded by high walls. The public section of the park houses a small artificial lake, pavilions, summerhouses and a porcelain factory. The public section is also connected to the nearby Çırağan Palace Kempinski Hotel by an historical bridge.
The park contains many benches with beautifully decorated paths. The lake in the center has a large fountain. There are two outdoor fitness areas with exercise equipment which can be used free of charge.
The best way to start the visit in the hilly park is to go up to the hill by taxi and walk to the Yildiz Chalet (Şale) Pavilion and the other kiosks on the way back down the hill.
It is located in the 3rd Court.
