Istanbul Mayor Kadir Topbaş paid a visit to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia-Herzegovina and met with Mr. Elmedin Konakovic, Prime Minister, Sarajevo Kanton Government and Mr. Abdullah Skaka, the deputy mayor of Sarajevo Kanton Government. Mr. Konakoviç said that they gave a lot of importance to the support of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM).
Mr. Topbaş stated his one-day visit to Sarajevo that they provided support to the sister city of Sarajevo in all areas such as transportation, education, tourism, water lines and infrastructure etc…
During his visit in Bosnia Herzegovina, Mayor Topbaş paid a visit to the grave of Alija Izetbegovic, the first President of Bosnia-Herzegovina and honored soldiers fallen in the Bosnian war.
Mayor Topbas said that the City of Sarajevo can expect visit by restorers from Istanbul very soon and that Administration of the City of Istanbul will finance the construction of the mosque that used to be a part of the White Fortress complex.
